The annual Tommy Giblin Fly competition is held at the end of April each year. This event coincides with the start of the Mayfly season. Tommy Giblin was to the forefront of angling in his adopted town of Scarriff. His enthuasism has been carried on by his family who sponsor this excellent event each year. All proceeds of the event go towards the running costs of the Scarriff Mountshannon & Whitegate Angling Club's hatchery.
